John 8:32
The Tithe and The Messiah
According to Numbers 18:21, the tithe is paid to the levite priests as recompense for their service at the tent of meeting. Numbers 8:19 reveals that the service at the tent of meeting is to make sacrifices unto the atonement of sin. Therefore, the tithe law is God's plan to atone for Israel's sin. More than that, the tithe law is the most conclusive prophetic foreshadowing of the work of the Messiah to atone for the whole world's sin.
