Deception
Jesus predicted false christs, false prophets, and false signs and wonders (Matthew 24:24). Deception is the primary sign of the end times (Matthew 24:4). Jesus commanded us to judge with righteous judgment (John 7:24) and to beware of false teaching (Matthew 16:12). The way out of deception is four-fold: We must study the word diligently (2 Timothy 2:15), be taught by the Holy Spirit (John 14:26), love and desire truth above all (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12), and get rid of all idols of the heart (Ezekiel 14:1-6).
